Every person attending prom is required to submit a permission form.
The Forest Hills School District continues to strive to make its schools the safest educational environment for your child. It is our intention to keep parents abreast of all policies and procedures. As part of the overall educational process, the following procedures have been adopted related to the participation in the Prom.
The following guidelines have been approved by the School Board for the high school as related to any student in violation of our drug/alcohol policy while in attendance at the Prom. Any student will be subjected to a breathalyzer or drug test if any of the following occur:
- Suspicion of drug or alcohol (To be determined by the FHSD Administration)
- Student demonstrates physical symptoms of drug or alcohol use.
- Student is found with drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or drug paraphernalia (including look-alike and un-authorized over-the-counter drugs or controlled drugs or substances).
- Distribution or attempt to distribute drugs or alcohol (including look-alike and unauthorized over the counter or drugs or controlled substances).
If a student is found to be in violation of the Forest Hills Drug/Alcohol Policy while attending the Prom the following procedures will take place:
- Police will be notified and charges may be filed.
- Parents will be notified and will need to drive their child home.
- Student will not participate in the After Prom Party.
- Student will face proper disciplinary action in accordance with the Forest Hills Drug and Alcohol Policy.
All students must check-in at the time of arrival and must sign out if they choose to leave prior to 8:30 PM. Failure to do so will result in the following actions:
- Parents will be notified.
- Student will not attend the After Prom Party.
- Student will receive a 10 day OSS/ISS.
